I went on a search for some outfits to get me out of my roll-neck-jumper-all-day-everyday vibe, because (hopefully) the weather is going to start feeling like Spring someday soon. So I’ve listed my fave Spring style finds from PrettyLittleThing, Missguided, Topshop, and how I’d style them, in this post!
PrettyLittleThing picks
The first thing that jumped out at me when I visited the PLT site this morning was this boilersuit. Boilersuits are very popular at the moment, as are all utility-style items in 2019, and the utility look is something anybody can pull off. The best thing about this denim boilersuit is that it could be dressed up OR down, by pairing it with some strappy heels for nighttime, or a pair of trainers for the daytime. And of course you'll be super comfy in something like this - it should be roomy all over! That's why this is a winner for me - NEED IT.
Next is this square-neck top that would be fab styled with some straight leg jeans and boots or sandals; or with a pair of nude-toned joggers and some trainers. The square-neck style is one of my favourites in a top because it looks so feminine and flattering. For me this is a staple for Spring! Add a few dainty gold chains and you're good to go. This also comes in a khaki shade which I think is beaut too.
Speaking of straight leg jeans, I've got a few pairs that I'll be wearing throughout Spring, but there's always room for some more. Topshop have this gorge pair and I hear theirs are the best straight leg jeans. If you like straight legs too but aren't sure where to find a good pair I'd suggest these pretties! They'll go with any top, shoe, jacket, and are perfect for Spring for that reason.
Tea dresses are my favourite part of Spring - actually I wear them all throughout summer too - and the 2019 season is going to be no different. This one is just one of the MANY stunning wrap-over, frilly tea dresses you can find on PLT. For me, chocolate brown is my favourite colour so I will for sure be buying this one - but if this shade isn't for you just check out their other options here. A tea dress will be gorge with a leather jacket and black boots, a pair of vans, converse, strappy sandals - anything really. These dresses even work with black tights on chillier days! You can even throw a cute cropped jumper over it for a skirt & jumper look. Definitely a must-have Spring/Summer style in my eyes.
If we're talking about staple dresses then we definitely can't leave out an iconic shirt dress. A white shirt dress can be worn in multiple different ways - tucked in to jeans, belted at the waist with some knee-high boots or heels, tied up as a crop top, off the shoulder, worn underneath a jumper/jumper dress.. If there is ANYTHING I can recommend having at least one of in your wardrobe, it's a shirt dress, because they're insanely versatile. I literally live for them.
Another stunning dress I came across was this midi, which would be the perfect dress for a night out or some other dressy occasion, teamed with some heels and gold accessories. I love that the print on this is only a very subtle leopard print and looks more like a spotty/polkadot print instead!
So far this spring I've bought three satin, flowy midi skirts. I'm mentioning this PLT one as it's less pricey than others I've come across, but actually two of mine are from Next (here, in the green and the deep pinky-red) and my third one is from Topshop (here). A satin midi is something that might not jump out as something you need for Spring but that's precisely why I'm including them in this post - they are a dream! They work well with any style of top - a blouse, a jumper, a knit jumper, a bodysuit, literally anything. Satin always looks so good paired with a different texture like knitwear so you can stay cosy yet look glam. I find myself constantly reaching for my midis this month! I'd just add my black boots or a pair of runners (I LOVE the look of these skirts with a chunky shoe) and my outfit is done! (For St. Patrick's Day I wore my green skirt with a black turtleneck tucked in, and wore a belt and my black sockboots to bring the look together!)
My final pick from PLT for today is this lemon top because lemon SCREAMS Springtime to me (anyone else?). If you can't tell, I'm not a huge lover of dark colours and like to keep my wardrobe as bright as possible, especially for this time of year. I'd wear this top with jeans similar to the ones pictured on the model. As I mentioned above, a square neck will look super flattering and girly! This top is adorable.
Missguided finds
While thinking of things that remind me of Spring style I remembered how much I adore gingham print - it's so cute. So I found these culottes and we all know how handy culottes are as they combine serious comfort with style. I always find culottes suit all body types! I like the matching top for these although I can see myself styling the culottes alone with other tops instead. But it is nice to have the co-ord option there! I really love these and I wish I had ordered them when I first spotted them a few days ago because now almost all sizes are sold out unfortunately. Although the good news is Nastygal have a TON of gorgeous gingham bits available too!
Denim co-ords have been a popular choice for Spring/Summer for a couple of years now and there's no sign of them leaving. This was one of the nicest ones I spotted on Missguided - the print is so different! You could even wear this in winter over a roll neck jumper (provided your jacket was oversized enough to go over a heavy top!). Denim co-ords can be pricey but they are an investment for sure.
I recently bought a vintage denim midi from Penneys/Primark and I am obsessed with the look of it! So I had to search for something similar to recommend to you all and found this GEM on Missguided. Perfect for day-to-night wear, even all year round. You can see for yourself just how fab it is with a plain tee, but it will go with any top or shoe (I think this blog post has a trend of mentioning versatile items, lol). You just need it.
Nastygal bits
BARGAIN ALERT: This beautiful jumpsuit is currently 40% off from Nastygal and is an absolute steal! This is the type of thing I could see myself wearing over and over throughout Spring and Summertime, but you could even style it over a black tee in colder months! Personally I'd style this with brown sandals and a brown bag, maybe something similar to the straw bag the model is holding.
I wasn't going to include these trousers as I already linked the gingham section from Nastygal earlier, but I love them so much I wanted to show them. You could wear these as a formal trouser if you want a change from the usual plain black. I just think gingham is so adorable and pretty when styled properly. Definitely always pair a gingham item with a plain colour to set the print off and make it the star of your outfit. P.S. there are very similar pants available in Penneys at the moment too, in a pastel green gingham or a pastel pink gingham, for €16! They're all my dream and I need them!
Okay, so that brings us to the end of the clothes in this blog post as I feel like I'm repeating a lot of my points! I did find so many gorgeous things on other sites too but I don't want the post to go on forever. I'm just going to link some of my fave accessories at the moment below (I've actually purchased most of them) because I really feel accessories are what bring the outfit together no matter what occasion you're dressing for!

Aaaaaaand my favourite: The oversized hairclip! I ordered two (just in case, lol) but I think I'll be using this to finish off my hair quite often this Spring. I love that these are coming back in and giving us all our cute 90s/00s moment!
Okay so that really is all from me for now, I wanted to include more but I know you probably lose interest after reading half of what I've already written lol. I'll be back soon with a New York City five day holiday info blogpost, so keep your eyes peeled for that! And I hope to add more styling posts like this in the future. Thanks for reading and let me know if you liked it - it's my first post so feedback would be great!
Love,
Aisling
